Avalanche Conditions Ticker
We all want to be safe in the back country; this widget gives those of us who aren't able to be out there all the time an insight into the trends happening in the mountains. The widget periodically updates with the latest avalanche forecast.
The forecast is given as a series of simple glyphs:
![]() | Extreme | ![]() | Moderate |
![]() | High | ![]() | Low |
![]() | Considerable | ![]() | No Report |
These icons are presented for each reporting zone: Alpine, Tree line, and Below Treeline. The forecast updates several times per day to keep your widget synchronized with the official forecast. The widget can retrieve the avalanche forecasts provided by the Canadian Avalanche Association and the Canadian National Parks. These regions include Kananaskis country, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, South Rockies, Kooteany Boundry, Glacier National Park (Rogers Pass), North Columbia, South Columbia, and the North Shore.
